Visitors to the Sengkang Connection pages sometimes ask how national factory data relates to a B2 project on Seletar West Road 3. These are the questions that come up most, answered from the figures reported by Trading Economics and Red Hot Singapore on 2 October 2026.
What Did the September Reading Say, and Why Is It Relevant to Sengkang Connection?
The headline manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index came in at 51.7 for September, against 51.5 in August, according to Trading Economics. A reading above 50 signals expansion, and this was the 14th straight month above it and the strongest since October 2018. For a B2 general industrial project, the connection is simply that B2 buildings are built for the type of firms this survey tracks.
Which Part of the Survey Matters Most for Sengkang Connection?
Electronics stands out. Red Hot Singapore reported that the electronics PMI rose to 52.9 from 52.6, a 16th consecutive month of growth and the highest since January 2018. Because this segment covers more than a third of manufacturing output, it drove higher orders, factory output and employment, with continued AI-related demand credited.
The rest of the survey is worth a glance as well. Trading Economics noted that order backlogs kept growing and that finished-goods inventories fell for an 11th straight month, which it ascribed to supply disruptions and higher import costs, not weaker demand. Red Hot Singapore reported longer supplier delivery times for a ninth month and higher input costs, especially in chemicals and petrochemicals.
What Does Sengkang Connection Offer, and What Does the PMI Not Say About It?
Start with what the survey leaves alone: it contains no figure for any individual development, and it supports no claim about this project's future. The project's own facts stand separately.
Sengkang Connection is a B2 multiple-user factory development on a 33-year JTC leasehold, with strata units for sale. Soilbuild Group Holdings Ltd is the developer. The building rises eight storeys on a 23,196.6 sqm site, about 249,686 sq ft, in Sengkang West. JTC awarded the site on 1 October 2025 at S$156,114,008 after four bids, and completion is scheduled by Q1 2029, with Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy targeted.
Because JTC awarded the plot through a tender, the unit terms follow the JTC lease structure: a 33-year leasehold from JTC. Strata units in a B2 building serve general industrial use, in line with the zoning stated above. The Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy target is a design aim, and like the completion schedule it sits entirely outside the survey. Each of these facts stands on the project record, and the PMI neither adds to them nor subtracts from them.
